SDA Meetup | Transitory Threads
Description
SDA Meetup: Transitory Threads is a meetup designed to explore the intersections of identity, memory, and fiber arts - inviting participants to delve into personal markers of selfhood through creative discussions and material explorations. Together, we will reflect on the resonant memories and stories that shape us, using textiles as our bridge to connect us with our deeper selves and one another. This gathering offers a space for fiber enthusiasts to share ideas, inspiration, and creative processes in a supportive and like-minded community.
Discussion prompt example: Think about a specific textile or fabric that holds meaning for you - whether it's inherited, handmade, or simply something you’ve lived with. What memories or emotions does it evoke, and how do those experiences relate to your current artistic practice?
Moderator: Bethany Cordero
Date and time (convert timezone): February 4, March 4, and April 1, all dates at 11 am ET (1st Tuesdays)
SDA Meetups connect individuals from around the globe in virtual groups based on disciplines and/or shared interests. Makers from all backgrounds and experience levels are valuable participants, and joining in a Meetup is a great way to make a positive impact by connecting with the SDA community.
